Is PlayHub Casino Legit?

Before creating CryptoCasino.Blog, I played on the PlayHub family of casinos (PlayHubCasino.com, Betswagger.com and PH.Casino) recreationally for years, and I’m not gonna lie, I kinda liked it.

In this article, I will describe what I found, and you can decide if other blogs “warning” and “stay away” notices for this casino are warranted or not.

Short answer is it’s legit, though could use improvement.

PlayHub Casino Country Restrictions

None, well sorta.

Effectively they don’t restrict players from any country. Technically, they can not accept players from sanctioned countries like North Korea. PlayHub Casino – as far as we can see – doesn’t deploy restrictions based on IP address, though some of the game providers themselves do.

PlayHub Casino also doesn’t participate in U.K.’s gamstop, though they do accept players from the U.K. The practice of accepting players from the U.K. but not participating in gamstop(for those not from the U.K., gamstop is self exclusion program state ordained casinos have to partake in) is frowned upon, though is perfectly legal as Usoftgaming N.V. is registered in Curacao, not the U.K. or a U.K. territory.

A Curacao gaming grants PlayHub the ability to offer gambling services to U.K. players, U.S. players, and so forth while banking in the jurisdiction of Curacao without any issues. If they were to establish a U.K. business entity and accept deposits and process withdrawals with a U.K. bank account, then they would have to abide by U.K. restrictions. People may say it’s akin to selling alcoholics outside of alcoholics anonymous, while others may say U.K.’s policy is an absurdity and trying to conform is a waste of time since in every other country has “personal responsibility” rather than “gamstop”.

Does PlayHub Casino Accept U.S. Players?

Absolutely, this is a little redundant, though yes, PlayHub Casino accepts residents of the United States.

Both U.S. IP addresses are accepted, and their policy is and always has been to accept U.S. players. There is no policies which would restrict players from the United States playing on PlayHub Casino, nor are there any laws which would restrict PlayHub Casino from offering gambling to U.S. players. It’s not a black market or a gray area, it’s simply jurisdiction. The laws in the U.S. are meant to regulate casino operators based in the United States, not players, simple as that.

While PlayHub Casino‘s policy has always been to accept U.S. players, many casino websites publish that they don’t accept U.S. players. That is false, other casino blogs often just plagiarize other blogs that also happen to be wrong(and creates an ongoing cycle), their writers often are not gamblers even if they say they are, and often they aren’t based in the U.S. and never have tested or asked to see if the casino works in the U.S. This is true for every online casino, every online casino has some blogs which say they accept U.S. players, and some blogs that say they don’t. Blogs are often loyal to their preferred partners, and often will publish country related restrictions without checking to see if the information is accurate. It doesn’t matter if it’s true if it shows up on google is the approach most casino bloggers take I’ve found.

Yes, you can play on PlayHub Casino from the United States in all 50 states without a VPN, there is no law nor casino policy preventing anyone from doing so, and the casino openly accepts players from the United States. They are appropriately licensed. There policy has never been to not accept U.S. players no matter how many other blocks out there imply otherwise.

No KYC

Really really no KYC.

As in, really no KYC.

They don’t ask what country you are from, they don’t ask for your phone number, they don’t ask for your name, they don’t address – ever(unless you put your name in coinpayments.net checkout, for which for anyone who’s used it before, you know it really doesn’t matter what you put).

It’s email address, username, password, nothing else.

This is another reason other blogs claiming country restrictions is absurd, since PlayHub Casino doesn’t block based on IP, nor do they ever ask you the country you are from.

This is also a reason we think this casino is worth not putting in the “stay away” list. It’s hard to find a casino that truly has no form of KYC, including no name or phone number requirements. Some people value their privacy, don’t want to put in their phone number, and don’t want to upload an ID – which is entirely understandable.

No VPN Needed For U.S. Players

You can sign up and play without a VPN.

Of course, game providers operate on their own region restrictions regardless of casino policy – which is true for any online casino.

Games by providers like Hacksaw, BetSoft, Revolver, and some other allow U.S. IP’s by default. Though the most important part is, the casino itself does, and they do welcome U.S. players. Go ask them if you want. In my experience, in their newsletters they sometimes talk about promotions from European targeted game providers, and they suggest to their U.S. players in the emails to use a VPN to partipate in those promotions.

So whats the “scam”/”warning” about?

The only legitimate complaint I’ve seen from others and experienced myself is slow cashouts. I have over a dozen cashouts, they advertise 24 hours, realistically most of the time it takes 2 to 3 days. I’ve had cashouts that only take an hour, and some are within 24 hours, though sometimes it is two or three days.

Not a deal breaker for me since other online casinos have 3 day cashouts by policy. So it’s like whoopity doo. The reason they get a warning anothers don’t is others say it will be three days, and they say it will be one day and sometime it is two or three days. I’m a gambler, so if I get the cashout sooner, more likely to go right back in and double down. So a two or three day wait never pushed me away from their casino. But that’s just me. Btw, you can just ask them to prioritize your cashout, instead of contacting live support, go to your profile page, go to messages, and write a message to “admin”(type that in the user name field), you will get a response. Super secret protip lol.

Not a big deal, for me, their limits are a bigger drawback. At their starting level, mex daily withdrawal is $2k a day, and for a lot of us, that is just way to low. It can be raised, though yeah, I don’t have a problem with the slow pay I have a problem with the limits. Their slow withdrawals is the main think that got them all the bad reviews though, even from sites that don’t even understand rudimentary fundamentals of online casino country acceptance nor take the time to check and test. That’s the big deal that got them dragged so badly I almost feel sorry for them.

I have never not had a deposit reflect, nor have I ever not been paid in full, which makes it in my book not a scam.

What They Do Well

It seems most (not all, some just suck) online casinos have some benefit that offset some drawbacks.

This is true with PlayHub Casino. So they do have the slow withdrawals, and yes they have withdrawal limits, but they do have some nice perks.

Altcoin Acceptance

They are altcoin friendly, with over 50 altcoins accepted. Including my favorite, XVG. I like XVG though it’s not a common one to find on casinos. It’s annoying to have to convert XVG to BTC just to gamble online, so I do appreciate the option to deposit with altcoins. It really depends if your an altcoin type, or just use crypto because it’s easier for online gambling.

Altcoin acceptance, no KYC, U.S. players with no VPN required, may already be reason enough for some to want to play on this casino regardless of limits. I know it was enough for me. I rarely see truly no KYC casinos that accept U.S. IPs, so it’s like why throw the baby out with the bathwater?

Bonuses

They don’t have a lot of bonuses, though the ones they do have are better than the majority of major online casinos. The welcome 100% deposit bonus “FIRST” up to $500 is a 15x play through, no cashout maximum(well besides the $2k a day). Many other deposit bonuses on the major site frankly suck, with 25-50x play through requirements. So far, most of the casino bonuses have been 100%/15x.

15x is the threshold for slots where a decently big bonus round win on a moderately high bet is enough to reach the play through requirement, and still have some funds to cashout. With 35x-50x play through requirements, you could hit a $2,500 win on a $200 deposit and easily lose the win just trying to reach wager requirements. While you could do the same on 15x, it’s much easier to actually win and keep your win while reaching requirements. Never have I seen one of the casino blogs that drug PlayHub through the mud do the same to the big name top casinos that often have 35x-50x playthrough requirements.

It’s really about what you are looking for in a casino. You might not like bonuses, in which case, it may make wayyyy more sense for you to skip PlayHub, and go ahead and play on a site with no withdrawal limits. There are ones that accept U.S. IPs, have no or very high withdraw limits, and have comparable game selection to playhub. Unlike PlayHub, they might have KYC, might not have much altcoin support, and may have 40x wager playthrough requirements on their bonuses.

Lastly, I’m not going to get into their loyalty program in this article, though if you do play enough to climb the ranks, their cashback is competitive, and their lift daily withdraw limit which is nice.

Games

Games selection on PlayHub is pretty good. With around 3,000 games, really not bad. And they have some solid U.S. IP by default game providers like BetSoft, Endorphina, HackSaw, and Revolver – which encompass most of my personal go to games. They also have the full Evolution Gaming suite of live dealer games and game show style games, if thats more your cup of tea. I you are looking for more slots and less limits and don’t want to use a VPN, MyStake casino might be a better choice for you.

Verdict

It’s honestly not a scam, though they may be a day or two slow on cashouts. It has pros and cons like every other casino. I think the pros are cool enough that it makes the casino worth defending, there are a lot of good choices out there and honestly PlayHub Casino and it’s sister site BetSwagger and PH.Casino aren’t bad. I’ve played on them for years and I don’t regret it.
